Richard Hutten

Hutten is known for his subtle and playful approach to design which he is known to have captured in the coin phrase "No Sign of Design".

Richard Hutten is an internationally renowned Dutch designer with a degree in Industrial Design from the Design Academy in Eindhoven. Hutten is an important part of a highly influential generation of designers that emerged in Holland during the 1990s and onwards. In 1991 Hutten started his own design studio, working on a variety of projects with furniture, product, interior and exhibition design. Hutten is known for his subtle and playful approach to design which he is known to have captured in the coin phrase “No Sign of Design”. Richard Hutten has previously worked with Donna Karan New York, Karl Lagerfeld and the Dutch Royal Court. His work is part of the permanent collections of, among others, Centraal Museum Utrecht, Vitra Museum Weil am Rhein and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
